Why did Assad use nerve gas?
Asia Times ^ | April 7, 201 | Stephen Bryen

Then why did he do it? He used nerve gas to block a peace process agreed by the US and Russia that would turn Syria into cantons and reduce Alawite control only to those districts where the Alawite minority dominates.

How about he's just another sick bastid like the rolly poley in north Korea.

Consider;

Two bullets, one each in the head of assad and jun and how much different the entire world would be ... instantaneously.

There was no investigation, just the assumption that only a state actor can make and posses Sarin. Ignored are various unconfirmed reports that moving Sarin from Libya was part of Benghazi.

Dennis Kucinich also claims that he believed Assad’s wanting to get rid of the gas when he questioned him as part of an interview.

Assad as other have pointed out had no real motive for using gas, and it was very limited strike which make no sense militarily.

ISIS on the other hand has motive to use and likely expertise to make Sarin, but that possibility is totally ignored by supposedly smart people in DJT’s government.

I’m familiar with CS having inhaled a bunch of it in the Fort Leonard Wood gas chamber. It’s not lethal.

I don’t think ISIS has the capability to produce sarin. It isn’t like making high explosives. It’s much more complex.

Interesting analysis. I think it’s true that the Russians were beginning to find Assad a bit of an embarrassment, and in addition, weren’t happy with his slowness and inefficiency in driving out ISIS (theoretically, the whole reason for leaving him in power). So maybe he really did mean this as a message to them.

Assuming that he did it, of course. One problem is that our intelligence services are so corrupted it’s hard to trust their analyses, and one wonders if they aren’t manipulating things to get the reaction and policy result they want.

Again that is an assumption - you don’t think. Assumptions are at the root of this issue. There is no proof that they do not have the expertise, and there is circumstantial evidence that they got quantities of Sarin from Libya.

In the absence of an actual investigation, blaming Russia is just counter-productive.

Nearly $59,000,000 in Tomahawk missiles!

But think of it as an insurance policy payment against Nork, ISIS, and Russian aggressions.

#6: "There was no investigation, just the assumption that only a state actor can make and posses Sarin."

I don't believe any Sarin was used. But if it were, the more important question would be "where did it come from?".

Because Sarin has a shelf life of five years max under ideal storage conditions, Sarin would have had to have been manufactured since 2012. If so, where, and by whom?

My belief is that there was no chemical bombing, and that if gas were created, it was homemade cleaning chemical chlorine gas, delivered by mixing it in a open barrel for the wind to disperse.

In the western world, any community swimming pool has more than enough chemical potential stored to kill 1000 people. Even Goober and Gomer could make it work.

It was a test of Trump, engineered by the Russians, Iranians, and Syria. They wanted to see if Trump was just Obama without the melanin.

I this article is so convoluted.

It shows how contrived the reasoning has to be to come up with a motive for Assad to do this.

By standard criminal investigative analysis, one would be highly skeptical Assad did it.

Because he had every motive not to, while the rebels and their backers (qatar, turkey etc) had every reason to pin it on Assad who they want gone...

It won’t surprise me one bit to find out one that day our journalists and politicians were hoodwinked by a false flag setup

Sarin? In viewing the vids of first responders, it is important to note a complete lack of HAZMAT gear associated with nerve agents. No Tyvec, no gloves, respirators, no protective gear whatsoever. In fact the vids show “responders” wearing tee shirts and sandals!

So... what’s the takeaway here? Stock film footage of some other event? A ruse? Or MSM fakery?

That is the most likely answer.

There is a huge desire to know what kind of man Trump is...by friend and for alike.

This was a probe of our defenses.

A simple test.

Agree.. I think the Rebels did it to gain sympathy and the US response is what they were hoping for. Not hard to for a chemical attack to coincide with a conventional airstrike when you r getting hit all the time.
