"As we learned from Scott Browns (R-MA) supermajority-breaking special election win in January of 2010, special elections can and sometimes do serve as harbingers for midterms.
There are three upcoming special elections to replace House members who have joined President Trumps cabinet, and each is turning out to be unexpectedly challenging for the GOP, who are expecting a low turnout in the wake of the Republicans gaining control of both Congress and the White House.
Kansas, Georgia, and Montana will hold special elections this spring, and if the Democrats pick up one or more of these seats, their resist we much campaign will get a much-needed boost."

Aaaaannnndddd this is how fake news works/
Turns out Quist has been delinquent on his taxes, and also received disability checks during a period when he was frequently appearing in public (for pay) with his musical group.
He’s a slacker and apparently a fibber but he’s laid-back, easy to like.
Greg Gianforte, who managed somehow to blow the governor’s race in a year when Trump swept Montana, has a tin ear and runs pee-poor campaign ads that only emphasize his ‘outsider’ reputation.
Sure hope he can get it done this time.
It’s enough to make me hope we lose one of them for 2 years. Which one?
Considering how well the GOP is handling their new majority status,I would bet my chips on the Dems doing well. At this point I consider myself an non voter.
Republican Richard Irvin won for Mayor of Aurora the 2d largest city in Illinois. Aurora is heavily Black and Latino and had a Democrat mayor the past 8 years. He is well qualified having previously been Police Chief of Aurora and then council member.
We need to make a list of all the wins ... and yes ... losses in IL, and in each state.
We need to learn from them what works and what does not work.
Each Indian (a member of a sovereign nation within our borders) in Montana will proudly cast five votes for Democrat Rob Quist.
When’s the elections this week?
Wow, I was not expecting to win in Aurora. Great news!
I was more surprised the White Republican Mayor of Ferguson, MO just won reelection (given the demographics).
Don’t bet on the GA seat going Demon rat. :-)
I knew their Mayor was White and heard on the news he was reelected, but I had no idea he was a Republican.
And it wasn’t close, 57%.
I read that he was a Republican somewhere, but I didn’t do an independent verification. Those local contests may be technically non-partisan.
Wikipedia says he was Chairman of the Missouri Young Republicans, but later worked for rat State Senator Ted House.
No years were specified as to when he served in those capacities. House was in the State Senate from 1995-2003 (curiously, he defeated a Republican incumbent in of all years, 1994) and ran against Todd Akin in 2002 (unusually, Akin handily carried Dem-leaning St. Louis County while House carried Republican-leaning St. Charles County). His page did say the Mayor’s office was non-partisan.
YOU’RE ALIIIVE !!
Yes it is interesting that Joel felt no need to serve his country in uniform.
Alive in Atlanta GA. One of the many who fled IL.
retired at last?
IL sucks for sure, but as long as there no tax on retirement income it’s still tolerable
So are ours in Chi since 1999. No Republican has even run for Mayor since 1995.
House was in the State Senate from 1995-2003 (curiously, he defeated a Republican incumbent in of all years, 1994
