"A fool and his money are soon parted."
"The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
I would be very suspicious. I container with those dimensions should be able to hold almost 695 L and not just 680 L.
That’s nothing.
I got an email from Mrs. Arafat saying she would share all the millions that her late husband Yasser stole from the PLO with ME (Of all People a very public Christian ZIONIST!) if I would just share with her my bank account number and password.
Needless to say, I did not fall for it.
ROTFL! Free money! I love this country!
Gee, I wasn’t aware the UN had an inspection agency in U.S. airports, or that one could pay a fee to avoid inspections. I would pass on this offer, myself. $8 million isn’t enough to justify the risk.
It is April 1, right?
How silly! Some Nigerians never learn! So now they got these scammers in Georgia?
Refugees in ATL perhaps?
One of the better written scam emails.
“each of the boxes contains about $4M or more”
How do you smuggle millions of dollars and not have enough cash to pay the assorted transport fees on an otherwise apparently legal “do not look inside this box” package?
Had a call on my cell phone yesterday informing me of a wonderful week I could spend at Disneyworld, all expenses and perks.
Was asked,’Does that sound good?’
Me, “no”.
Him, ‘You do have a credit or debit card.’
Me, “no”.
Him, ‘I guess you’re not eligible’
Hung up.
I think he was trying to get me to say “Yes”.
Heard about the scam this week and refused to play along.
Not interested. The box sounds way too heavy for me to lift.
This is a new twist on the OLD “I’m stuck in a Spanish prison..!” con.
The French Revolution overthrew royal folks with tons of dough, right..?
Some got their heads chopped off, others ran away.
But the point is people UNDERSTOOD there were rich folks floating around who’d ran away from France.
So back in the day, random letters from con-men exploiting that narrative would arrive:
“Send me just $100 to get out of this ghastly SPANISH PRISON and I’ll cut you in on 10% of the French treasure I fled France with..!”
And suckers would buy it, they’d greedily send money.
Like the Nigerian scammers, right? THAT is where they got their stupid stories, from the age-old Spanish Prison Con.
But even the FRENCH guys had recycled “their” story, it was handed down to them from some other revolution even prior to theirs.
Variations on this con have been going on for OVER 500 YEARS..!
At the University of Lagos there is an actual 419 Scam MAJOR, an academic department.
That does sound made-up but it’s a whole industry over there.
Even before the internet they were sending snail letters to Japan, with tails of woe.
All a scam.
Its been awhile but when I was getting a couple of these on my email every week I did some research and started to forward the messages to the FBI. It was either that agency or Secret Service that referred to these scams as “Nigerian 219” letters. I used to respond to them just to yank their chains.
