Compare when they were called though. Three of UK’s starters were called for two fouls each. Makes a difference I’m the flow of the game.
Eddie Sutton wasn’t UK’s coach in the early 80s. He started in 85.

I don’t remember any threats to the referees when KY beat UNC by 3 points at Rupp earlier this season......
Would have been 1988, Sutton’s only loss to UL while he was at UK.
It wasn’t at Rupp, it was in Las Vegas, and officiating in that game wasn’t an issue apparently. If your trying to say UNC fans are above anything like this, ask Dan Kane, reporter for The News & Observer in Raleigh. He received death threats for investigating the academic fraud at UNC.
Hollywood Higgins has a large reputation for making the game about himself.
Ask any big XII college sports fan. He refs lots of games.
How else did he get the nickname “Hollywood” Higgins. He loves to be on camera.

He made the idiotic comment about officiating on the post game interview...
Actually they did, just not to the level this has gone. Their message boards were full of complaints.
The calls in this game were really sketchy, to the point that Twitter was full of national media openly questioning the officiating. Add the previous history of UK games Higgins has called and it snowballed.
I stress again, NOTHING justifies the action of these fans. There are ways to blow off steam and rant without involving the life of another. I hope they catch and prosecute those that did threaten him.
Message boards are a little different than hitting a company’s review site and threatening his family...

That’s just ludicrous. Coaches comment all the time about officials after games. His comments weren’t even that harsh.
Is he just supposed to sit down, shut up and take it?
I haven’t heard very many coaches complain about the officiating on air....
Most coaches have more class than that....
They are limited on what they can say, and can be fined if they say too much, but they do comment.
