The German movie that this came out of is a real great historical accurate document. I just recently saw the original movie on Netflix and was amazed how close to the history they followed the story.

I’ve seen it too. I like how the amount of food on their plates was small by today’s standards. That was a nice little detail that a lot of other directors might have missed.

I echo your comments. “Downfall” is one of the best WW2 movies made. My son said his German teacher showed it at the end of the year. The guys in the class loved it, and everyone started laughing when the “Hitler rant” scene came up. Which is too bad because it is one of the best scenes in the movie. It shows Hitler in all his rage in his delusional world, and then at the end, his veil of delusion is pierced and he finally is confronted by reality. He knows its over.
