March Consumer Confidence Leaps to Highest Level Since 2000

As economic upside surprises go, this was a big one.

The Conference Board‘s reading on consumer confidence jumped to 125.6 in March from an upwardly revised level of 116.1 in February. Economists thought it would slip to 114.

Thomas Simons of Jefferies says confidence has been “on an erratic trend higher” with some downturns, but this move is the highest since December 2000 and a new high for this cycle.

How can this be?,,,the liberals and media have told us we are now in the dark ages in the Trump era; Trump is Hitler and all that. How can consumer confidence be so high then?????
