A 12-year-old boy has perhaps become the youngest father in India. The boy, hailing from Kerala, is the father of a baby girl. The mother of the baby is a 16-year-old.
According to The Hindu, the boy has been booked for impregnating the teenage girl under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The baby girl was reportedly born in Ernakulam. The paternity has been confirmed by DNA tests.
Dr. P.K. Jabbar, Professor and Head of the Endocrinology Department of the Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram was quoted saying by The Hindu that the boy could have a medical condition called 'precocious puberty,' in which a child attains puberty at a much earlier age. It was not an unusual medical condition but no incident of a boy becoming a father at the age of 12 had come to his notice, he said.

I recall a similar situation in Britain that turned out to be a hoax: the baby’s father was an older boy.
Not sure what the normal range is, but I had to shave for the first time when I was twelve and as a sophomore on the wrestling team the top of the uniform didn’t do much to cover up the hair on my chest. It was embarrassing until I discovered that girls liked it. Guess I had the same “medical condition”, and eventually was kind of grateful I caught it. :)

I recall that too. The baby's father felt he had been falsely charged "Some one has it in for me!", he protested.

Now, at the age of 12, he’ll have to get a job — likely in a call center. Expect to hear a child’s voice on the other end of the call saying your computer has had a security breach.
