In connection with a thought I had about Hitlery Clinton and Tim Kaine, I did some research on the word “harridan,” I discovered that there is no male gender equivalent word.
A harridan is, of course, an angry and unpleasant woman; a shrew. IOW, Hitlary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Maxine Waters, et al. There are other harridans out and about, but you get the gist/flavor of my meaning, I think.
Merriam-Webster further suggests that the word is, perhaps, a modification of French “haridelle,” meaning, old horse, gaunt woman.
There are male harridans: Chuckie Schumer and Dingy Harry Reid fall readily to mind. As does Tim Kaine and John McCain. There are, of course, others: ALL ARE LIEBERAL DEMOCRATS! Save John McCain, who doesn’t know WHAT he is!
While not all male LIEberal Democrats are male harridans, all male harridans are LIEberal Democrats, (except, as noted, John McCain) and of course, ALL harridans are LIEberal Democrats!
One other characteristic of harridans I discovered is that they are “venomous.”
Mirriam-Webster is useful here, also: “expressing very strong hatred or anger.”
The word “venomous” is useful when discussing harridans and their male equivalents, so I generally use “venomous harridans” to describe particularly nasty females of the LIEberal Democrat persuasion.
Now you see how necessary it is for us to determine a word to describe the male equivalent of a harridan, particularly since we might want to preface the word with “venomous,” as, just as all harridans are venomous, all male harridans are venomous!
What word could we use to define a male harridan?
A himmidan?
Schmuck is fairly appropriate, but in Schumer's case you could add snoutband and pilgarlic.
I believe the proper word to describe Schmuck is: "@$$hole".

The word “schumer” comes to mind.
Well, we know all of the “venomous” ones speak ‘parseltongue’ (h/t to Sundance at Conservative Treehouse for describing Comey at the Intelligence Committee meeting a week or so ago as speaking ‘parseltongue’).
Someone who can speak it is referred to as a “Parselmouth”. So .... Schumer, Kaine, McCain, Harry Reid i.e. any DemonRat or Repuke like McCain could all be referred to as “venomous Parselmouths”. Works for me.
