when my kids were young they had to be 16 to work...the late 80s early 90s..
I started working at 14, no work permit required, c. 1973; first job was working Bingo at the parish school, parking cars, flipping the little light board, handing the numbered balls to the caller, setting up and breaking down the gym on Saturdays...paid $40 a month, we thought that was great. Man, those were the days.

yup me too- (I actually worked before that unofficially- just didn’t get paid for it lol- Chores? Sure, if you call doing chores 40 hour per week ‘chores’ lol- j/k it wasn’t that bad)
