Longtime radio personality and The Big Broadcast host Ed Walker passed away early on Oct. 26 at age 83. We invite you to leave your thoughts and remembrances.

Saying Goodbye To Ed Walker

Ed Walker spent 65 years on the radio. His last program was unlike any other.

Evening all, happy Sunday.

We’ll see how idiotic Murray will be tonight...a fairly weak lineup, never heard of Meet Corliss Archer or the The Adventures of Jane Arden (I take it our SWJ host is fixated on women), Buck Rogers (kids programming at 9pm?)...I believe Fort Laramie is a cheap B or C Gunsmoke knockoff...”Information Please” a quiz show at 10pm?...and ending with a Cavalcade of America (probably for a SWJ theme).

How goes it?

Possibly the worst lineup ever.

Hi, Vision! You’re right. It’s a lame lineup.

But it’s a beautiful Spring day here. How about up there?

Hey Gina, it's been a beautiful day but outside it's in the 40s and cloudy, a light mist now.

What's the latest?

Not much happening here now, but out Internet connection is painfully slow for some reason this afternoon.

We’re going to try the BBQ Pit Boys Beer Can Burgers this evening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hq2kmbI_1EA

I see I’m double posting. Didn’t mean to do that. And I now see Keith already told you about the beer can burgers. :-)

Meet Corliss Archer is vapid and annoying. There’s no reason for it to be playing.

Way to screw up another night Murray and team! SJW losers.

Good, overall. Just sitting here, ordering solder so I can fix broken board connections on a desktop police scanner, 11 meter side-band rig, and a couple mini laptops. Nursing a strained calf muscle - the missus and I have made a challenge to finally start using the treadmill for what it's purpose is, instead of a conversation piece. I did about a quarter mile on it last night, and my lower legs and feet are raising Cain over it. I think it seems to be helping the neuropathy, edema, and lymphedema, though. Spring has sprung in this neck of the woods - have the central A/C going this evening - it got into the 80's today. Already have flats of beefsteak tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, and white scuppernong grapes going. Picked up a rose princess nectarine and Keiffer pear trees to plant for our orchard, but no idea where they're going in yet. LOL Gotta address that soon - the pear tree is already 7' tall and the nectarine tree has dozens of first crop pink flowers on it. I have a new gas tank, rear tires and rims, and starter for the big lawn tractor and have to get hopping on that. Lots of brush-hogging awaits. Basically, I have about three years' worth of projects I need to do in one spring, now that I'm mobile again. The pool, landscaping, and all other things related to it are another story. And the list goes on. I feel guilty because we both kinda sandbagged all weekend. LOLOL! Oh, I decided it's high time to get out the Little Brown Keg and get this started:

Oktoberfestivus lager. I'll actually have to cook down the Hallertau hops in a muslin bag to mix with the wort, then ferment and condition it for about three months. If it turns out as good as I think it will, I'm going all-in for this:

Partial mash Zombie Fest Lager, with Vienna and Munich malt, and Tettnanger hops. As they say on the page, 'We hungered for an Oktoberfest brew that would be stronger, maltier, and, yes, even more German. So our Brewmaster tinkered in his lab and returned to us with his very own Bavarian monster – Zombie Fest. It’s partial mash and partial evil with an appetite for GRAAAIIIIINS. '. LOLOL!!!!!
