So she eases out of bed and shuffles over to her desk, with its giant-print Bible and a magnifying glass within easy reach. She bends her 4-foot-10-inch frame toward her spiral notebook and begins to write. She was born on a farm in Kingston, Ark., in 1907. Four months after her birth, her father died. Phillips says she retired in 1972. But thats not quite true. Into her late 90s, she continued to work in child care and elder care clocking as many as 65 hours a week. She traveled widely to Israel, Puerto Rico and the Philippines, where she worked for several months as a Christian missionary.

Remarkable. I would like to check out her books. She was born about the same time as my grandmother. As a kid, I always enjoyed listening to the old-timers talking about old times. I miss that generation.
Interesting. Bet she has much insight to share. You don’t live that long without gaining huge amounts of wisdom (that only comes by experience). Thanks for posting.
I wonder if she would let me visit her. She sounds wonderful!
I hope someone has made her work available on Amazon, at least. They’ll wish they had if they hadn’t.
