He may not appreciate it right now, but if he’s smart (and I think he is) he will come to understand this.

What happened is, I am sure, what Trump expected and ensured. He did not want Ryan and the Republicans to just keep fiddling with it. He wanted it killed quickly. Opposing it would not have accomplished that because it would have publicly set up an opposition between the President and the wannabe Prime Minister. You don't win stuff that way. Even if you win on points you lose capital. Ryan was pretty thoroughly discredited. That is a positive event. Obamacare by any other name was further discredited, another good thing.

P.S.- Where did all these Obamcare fans come from? They seem to want to keep it, just rename it and jigger and tweak a bit so it will be "Our" Obamacare.
