Simple No BS Health Insurance Reform, No frills Markets

How bout simple insurance?

What is insurance? Insurance is protection against random events that exceed your ability to absorb the impact based on your current position, financial or otherwise.

Insurance isn't health care. Insurance isn't a maintenance plan or payment plan.

So why not have two types of insurance. 1. Insurance of a percentage of impact up to a certain maximum benefit. 2. Insurance of a maximum impact.

Both Insurances could be purchased on the open market like life insurance.

1. Would work that after a low deductible would kick in a increasing scale coverage based on the total expense of a treatment for an illness. 2. Would kick in once a maximum has been reached on an illness or related illnesses.

1. Example: After 400 dollars the insurance would start covering 10% and increase by 1% for each 100 dollars up to the 100% till you reach your maximum. After that you would cover anything in excess of this out of pocket or with insurance type 2 if it kicks in at this point. 2. Would kick in once you have exhausted insurance type 1 and paid the difference between insurance level 1 maximum and your out of pocket maximum. Of course insurance level 1 coverage counts towards your out of pocket maximum for insurance level 2.

The poor's earned income tax credit can only be deposited into HSAs that can be used to pay for insurance. (Illegal Immigrant Tax Fraud Solved)

Health Insurance Expenses only count for physical ailments related to your health that have been deemed as medical necessity. Doctor's must sign an affidavit to this effect that is subject to insurance fraud laws.

So no plastic surgery, at will abortions, or medical marijuana prescriptions for PTSD.

I should say that Pre-existing conditions can be covered as a new illness if you didn’t have previous coverage but the insurance company will price this into the price for your policy.

Good for you for thinking out of the box! Look around the world, some countries have taken Insurance companies out of the equation completely, as they lead to corruption. They do not allow direct competition between clinics and hospitals. So you get AAA plus care from US trained doctors at a fraction of the price.

This is now headlines across the US..... SARC/

Maybe the media and corporations don’t want you to know this............

There is no reason why an enterprising group of people couldn’t come up with a concept like this and do a pilot study on a limited basis in one state just to see how well it works. Kentucky would be a perfect state for this, what with Rand Paul’s prominent role in health care in the U.S. Senate.

One thing that I would want though is that for Insurance #2, that even when you change Insurance Companies, the new insurance company could negotiate a payout for any liability the previous insurance company would had if you continued coverage.

Kind of like a bonus for your new insurance company to take you and take over the burden.

HMO’s in their infantcy were not what they have been forced into today. Doctors were the HMO years ago and offered them to patients to keep them coming to them exclusively.

But when the lawyers got into the game and changed the play with lawsuits to physicians that far exceeded the acts, they forced new medical students to spend more time in learning so they could CYA themselves better, the price for healthcare went up. I personally know one surgeon that has to spend over $90 thousand a year on malpractice insurance. If he expects to cover his college loans and this bill along with his licensing fees, and pay his office staff, the customer has to pay.

So what started out as an incentive for patients, had to be turned into a business. Tack that on to the government discovering the areas of what they need to control to force the voters to their knees, education, transportation, and medical care, they added their “dime” to the mix through the numerous medical organizations they control financially and it all ended up in astronomical bills for the consumer. And the insurance companies are caught in the middle. So guess who is expected to pay the bills?

I remember when my parents used to have insurance similar to what I posted, they didn’t like it because they had to fill out the forms and the doctor didn’t.

This was before the Internet though.

There is no reason we can’t take this back with smartphone apps so there isn’t a burden on the Doctor’s other than electronically signing documents online we submitted to them.

I don’t want abortions either, but if the Doctor is willing to risk prison time stating that it is a medical necessity I think it is worth it. All the lying baby killers will go to prison.

Not on MY policy— Who pays? me? or the old insurance company. Pre existing need to go to high risk pool. Subsidize that at very deserving levels but don’t make other people pay because I sign up with ALS. This is nuts!! Have we lost our collective minds? FREE ENTERPRISE!! IT WORKS!!

No its not workable long term. Also your not eliminating the back office costs that currently up prices 60-70%. If you strip a way everything leaving insurance for just, if you will a major car crash, (analogy) with the balance of care paid out of pocket, HSA pre-tax $, funded by Fica/SS taxes, with medicare/caid funding of the HSA and catastrophic policy, you also begin to reform entitlements pulling the $ collected By DC and locking them to the individual.

Step 1
pass the ryan care bill with 3 amendment, re-allow catastrophic health insurance policies, cap the tax deductibility of corporate paid health insurance while making individual health care spending 100% pretax and mandate cash cost for all health test procedures and medication be posted conspicuously.

The privatization of entitlements.

If you have previous coverage, no impact to your rates.

If you don’t, then your rate is impacted.

The great thing about this though, is you could set it up so if you have a lapse in coverage that even the previous insurance coverage could have a sliding scale of liability so that there would still be value there because you could always reinstate your old policy and get full coverage on your preexisting condition.

There still would be meat on the bone for your new insurance company to negotiate with.

There’s no shortage of insurance plans available in a free market setting. The problem I have with Obamacare, at this point anyway, is that if one segment of the society is receiving government assistance that all don’t receive then that is socialist and unconstitutional under the equal protection clause.

“Also your not eliminating the back office costs that currently up prices 60-70%.” Wrong, back office cost drop to nearly to zero

You are looking for a health maintenance plan not a health insurance plan.

The problem is we are confusing health insurance with health maintenance.
