Actually, lots of poisons take time to kill, but are somewhat persistent, remaining effective for some time. One of the best and quickest killers is an ordinary soap solution. It coats their exoskeleton and suffocates them, but it requires direct application. They can’t just walk through it like some poisons.

Soap will kill squash bugs, and they are pretty much immune to most pesticides.

Maine's state fire marshal says a man burned down his parents' house and killed three pets while trying to exterminate ants in his basement with matches.

Investigators say 21-year-old Devon Doucette was trying to incinerate the ants with wooden matches when one of them ignited combustible materials. The fire quickly spread to the rest of the house.

...the house is owned by his parents, who were not home at the time... the fire killed two cats and one dog. They say charges are not likely.

Maine's state fire marshal says a man burned down his parents' house and killed three pets while trying to exterminate ants in his basement with matches.

Investigators say 21-year-old Devon Doucette, a registered democrat, collins, king, pingree and baldacci supporter, was trying to incinerate the ants with wooden matches when one of them ignited combustible materials. The fire quickly spread to the rest of the house.

...the house is owned by his parents, who were not home at the time... the fire killed two cats and one dog. They, the demcrat controlled AGs office, say charges are not likely, for as obama did not prosecute black criminsals, we here in Maine AGs office do not prosecute good party of the IMBECILE criminal members.

The article says he started the fire in his parent’s basement. Wonder if that was also his bedroom? Loser! Only in Maine. Wonder how many teeth he’s missing?

I actually respect the young man.

When faced with ants, he knew it was time to Stand and Deliver.

DE is also advised as an anti-tapeworm treatment for dogs, at 5% of their total food.

It is an olde timey thing.

PIC or TERRO [about 5% borax] liquid works for me.

I get about 3 ant invasions every couple of years of small black ants. They load up on the PIC or TERRO and take it home. After about a week, no more ants for several months.

The liquid bait does seem preferrable to burning down the apartment complex.

A few years ago in in Mathews Virginia a man was eradicating weedy vines next to his house and set his house on fire. He was using a propane torch. The firefighters arrived got inside to overhaul the fire and discovered a very large marijuana growing area with lots of marijuana growing. The police were summoned and the man was arrested for cultivating a controlled substance.

Diatomaceous earth when ingested has been known to kill pets.

That Terro bait is very good. I like to see the massive amount of ants swarm around it, only to take it back to their nest and die a few days later. Is it unethical to kill ants? I hope not or I will be damned for all eternity.
