The rational answer is to roll your eyes and mutter “shut up, you putz.”

Those are fair, but I was going to blame Truman and his firing of MacArthur, instead of letting him free China too.

Why do we continue to let this Hitler wanna be live?
Because he can hit Seoul with 30,000 rockets in a matter of minutes.

Yup. My thought exactly.
And it doesn’t even have to be nuclear.
Bunker busters will do.
Hit their only main city and a few military targets and game’s over for them.

When I was in high school, a loooong time ago, a bunch of us used to sing this song and it drove our history teach nutz!
The school folks forbade it being sung.
This was in the early 60’s...lots of change, eh?

Whenever you see pictures of this rotund, diminutive dingbat, gis ubiquitous generals are there taking notes on those tiny notebooks. Here he is visiting a NK mushroom farm and the generals with their notebooks. Note the mushroom bags in the background.

If they only take out San Francisco and LA they just might be doing US a favor.

If a single shot is fired, it should be through Kim Dung Ill’s fat little head. Then there won’t be a “we” in Nork.

Short answer: no. NK submarines, even the model capable of launching ballistic missiles, are diesel-electric boats. They would need a network of tenders/mother ships to help them reach launch areas in the central and eastern Pacific. That sort of activity would certainly attract the attention of the USN.
Additionally, NK subs are noisy in comparison to newer diesel-electric boats and easier to track. It’s not a stretch to think that any DPRK missile sub enroute to a launch position would be dispatched by a P-8; an ASW helo, a surface vessel or even a Los Angeles or Virginia-class attack boat.
The real problem with North Korean SLBMs is that as the technology improves, range and accuracy will improve. At some point, Pyongyang will have long-range missiles than can be fired by subs in “bastion” locations in the Yellow Sea or Sea of Japan. Operating from home waters, it is much easier to protect the boomers and for those systems to initiate a first strike.
