Saturday Night Live's 'Complicit' Ivanka Trump 'Perfume Ad' Gets The Internet Talking

Saturday Night Live has taken aim at different members of the Trump administration including showing White House strategist Steve Bannon as the Grim Reaper and having press secretary Sean Spicer played by a gum-chewing Melissa McCarthy.

In the most recent episode, the show decided to take a dig at President Trump's daughter Ivanka in a spoof of a high-end perfume ad for a product called "Complicit."

Played by actress Scarlett Johansson, she appears as a glamorous woman attending a fancy party with champagne; the female narrator says in a voiceover, "... A woman like her deserves a fragrance all her own, a scent made just for her because she's beautiful, she's powerful, she's ... complicit."

Later in the now-viral commercial, the narrator asks, "A feminist, an advocate, a champion for women...But, like, how?"

AdChoices It ends with the voiceover line, "Complicit: the fragrance for the woman who could stop all this ― but won't."

According to the Huffington Post, "'SNL' has mocked Ivanka Trump in the past, but this is the first time the sketch show is casting a more critical spotlight on the first daughter. This time, it's attacking her feminist advocacy without reservation."

Which is why I make a point of calling Hillary Clinton “The Butcheress of Benghazi”.

Somehow all her misdeeds, lies and her prominent record of failure have stopped being topics of discussion.

She is being touted as being pure as the driven snow now that President Trump is in Office. Revisionist History at its finest.

Saturday Night is what, over 40 years old?

In 1975, how many of the hipsters thought comedy from 1935 was cool?

How pathetic must your life be if you still watch SNL.

Ivanka should steal the idea and produce such a perfume. I’d bet it would sell like hotcakes.

It would sell better than Hillary Clinton’s perfume, Enabler. “When only the smell of cabbage, urine and flatulence will do.”

Liberals hate beautiful, successful, feminine women, especially if they have a cute husband and kids.

End of story.

Don’t watch the garbage SNL is putting out!

I saw a clip of it on Youtube and Scarlett Johanssen who is worth $80 million dollars and doesn’t have to worry about employment or health insurance flat out called Trump a racist. Maybe I should call her a crack addict, a whore, an dog molester being that she feels it’s perfectly OK to tag someone as racist without a shred of evidence.

They watched the old movies.

The Marx Brothers weren’t still performing in 1975.

I like watching some of the old Saturday Night.

But, it’s worn out.

The Marx Brothers will ALWAYS be cool. The Three Stooges. Laurel and Hardy. Abbott and Costello were performing together in 1935 in vaudeville.

The performances of these greats STILL make people laugh.

Actually the show was pretty funny until that skit...it was way over the line.
The news section with Colin and Michael is just not funny....I usually turn it off

(Raises hand) Guilty

That said, the old stuff with Chase, Curtain, Belushi, and all was really quite good. As funny as Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy.

The new stuff has rare flashes of humor, but is mostly tedious. Not as good as the original.

Gotta go now and tell some kids to get off my lawn...

I don’t watch it often, but, yes, they occasionally have something a little funny.

But a lot of their skits boil down to what most modern comedy seems to boil down to:

Republicans are stupid.
White people are stupid.
Straight people are stupid.

Ummmmmmmmmm ... comedians used to try harder.
