I had my best experience with Windows XP.

Then went Mac and never went back.

Agreed. Unfortunately XP is no longer supported. Just upgraded to Win7 and bought another 3-4 years of support. Licenses are pretty cheap @ $35 for 64bit Pro.

It'll be Linux after that.
