Billy J Kramer & The Dakotas—from the name, one must assume they’re from Bismarck, Minot, Pierre or thereabouts.

I was in radio back then (the old original WABB-Mobile, AL. and their songs were especially good with retaining adults)
To be a successful rock station, you have to “not run off” the adults.
Good, friendly sounding tunes.

A song the Beatles gave away. Written by Lennon & McCartney. It sounds like one of Paul’s.

Back in the 60's when WABC and WMCA in NYC were Top-40, during the late morning-early afternoon time slots they had on Harry Harrison (WMCA) and Herb Oscar Anderson on (WABC) who started his career on the Armed Forces radio network during WW2 playing early Sinatra, Dinah Shore, big band music, etc. These guys were able to connect with the parents who would most likely be listening to the radio during those times and assure them that this "crazy" rock and roll music music is OK. (Though some of the psychedelic, heavy metal and punk rock that came years later, that's another matter.)
