Mine also gets a biscuit whenever she comes back in from bathroom break. Lately, she rushes in straight to the closet where the biscuits are, so as to get her biscuit before I close the door, then pushes the screen door open with her nose to go out a second time, then comes right back in for another biscuit.

My borzoi uses her good looks to charm people into giving her treats.

It’s hard to resist her when she puts her Dickens Bleak House look at you crossed with a Les Deplorables sad look.

As if to say:

“Look how skinny I am, my owner does not feed me.”
“Please don’t hate me cause I’m beautiful.”

Then if you are ‘in her club’, she will jump up and snug you and try to lick your ears.

Manipulative bitch!

And...I absolutely love her. Best little special snowflake in the world.

Far smarter than cats and, as an added bonus, if you die they are far less likely than cats to eat your liver.

Scientists found that dogs can be sneaky and manipulative in order to get what they want from humans.

Anyone who has spent much time around dogs knows this. Dogs also have personalities. Some dogs are more sneaky than others.

They paid for a study to figure this out? They could of saved the money and simply asked any dog owner this question.

We have to spell certain words around our dogs. Words like walk. But I think they have figured out what we are spelling.

It’s not that as I have a boy who lives with his mother (divorced).

Dogs are much less maintenance that kids.

Some people understand their limits and are prudent in what they can reasonably handle.

Kids and Wives can be really tough and it really takes a ton of energy to make a family work these days.

I know I simply couldn’t keep up and simply burned out.

When it comes to food (especially left over steak), my dachshund does not manipulate-he orders. He is so cute we can’t help but follow.

My golden retriever likes to use the “Are you not entertained by my awesomeness?” look. I taught him how to open a door and since that day he has milked that trick for all it’s worth.

My dog gets a treat when she goes on the pee pad.

And by golly you better give it to her because she will bark until she gets it...especially if I am upstairs and she is downstairs.

Appetite per weight, NOTHING will outbeg/out eat a Dachshund.

I have a Basset Hound and she has a bell on the door to let us know she wants out. But, sometimes she uses the bell to get our attention instead. As soon as I open the door she goes back a few paces and rolls over expecting a belly rub...and of course a treat.

My dog knows that if she makes me laugh, I’ll feed her. So, she will clown around for me until I cave in.

Why dogs die prematurely? Small dogs should live 20 years.
Large dogs 15 years. To achieve this result, feed only dry dog food, with lamb/beef/chicken as 1st ingredient. Very important, brush their teeth with a soft tooth brush with water only, no tooth paste since they will swallow it.
Twice a week is sufficient. If you start when they are puppies, they adapt to brushing. Without weekly brushing, gum disease takes hold, and those same mouth germs destroy their kidneys/heart/liver.

I wonder how much our government is wasting in similar studies.

Our Chihuahua is a master at begging and manipulating. She can also tell time. We are her minions. :-)

Eventually they’ll figure out what we already know:
you don’t “train” dogs, you just come to a point of mutual accommodation.

I’m no psychologist, but I suspect that anyone claiming they trained a dog is slightly deranged.

Better still, feed them a raw meat diet with bones and cartilage. Raw meat, bones and cartilage are their natural diet and no tooth brushing is required as the bones and cartilage keeps their teeth clean and their gums healthy.

The raw meat diet also helps with the other end of their GI tract, if you know what I mean.
