Two San Francisco police officers were injured after a car that suspended Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith was allegedly a passenger in collided with their unmarked vehicle near police headquarters in Mission Bay Thursday morning, according to reports.

Though police could not confirm the identities of the driver and two adult male passengers, KTVU reported that one of the passengers was Smith. The driver, a 25-year-old woman, was detained and is under investigation for her sobriety at the time of the crash, while one of the passengers was detained on suspicion of public intoxication, said Officer Giselle Talkoff, a police spokeswoman.

The collision occurred at about 8:30 a.m., when the officers were turning their unmarked vehicle into the headquarters’ parking garage off of China Basin Street, Talkoff said.

Attempting to pass the officers, the driver of the other car slammed into the unmarked vehicle.

Aldon Smith was stopped OBVIOUSLY because of his color, though in Oakland that’s no news.

At the start of his career, Smith looked like he was on his way to becoming a first-ballot Hall of Famer - one of the best pure pass rushers to come along in years. The dynamic duo of substance abuse and a complete lack of self-control have undone him, as they have so many others.
