The chickens still die. Whether it is because they must be destroyed for humane reasons, or if they died as a result directly of the collision, they are expired, they are no more, they are D-E-D, DEAD.

It is hard to get personal with a chicken. They are really rather shallow people, unable to carry on even a rudimentary conversation, and with a very limited attention span.

Chickens have a short life anyway. They are meant to either produce eggs for food or be food themselves. They cannot survive in the wild “free as a bird” any longer than they can survive in the chicken coop laying eggs.
