In a climactic battle at sea, an Iranian commander orders his forces to open fire on a much larger U.S. fleet, obliterating it with a barrage of rockets, some of which tear American flags from their masts.
The scenario unfolds in "Battle of the Persian Gulf II," a new Iranian animated film more than four years in the making that imagines a devastating response to an American attack on the country's nuclear program.
It might have seemed out of date this time last year, when a nuclear accord reached with world powers had lifted sanctions and raised hopes for a broader rapprochement between Iran and the West.

They didn’t manage to sink it and had to tow it back to port.
Looks like we have next year’s Academy Award Winner for Best Foreign Film.
Hell, I thought it would have been nominated for THIS year’s “Best Foreign Film”. Badmouthing America, Iranian origin, even some kind of fascinating “special effects”.
This is exactly the kind of thing that would appeal to the majority of the Academy participants.
No doubt they’d get a standing ovation.
I am just a regular old Theodoric the Great.
It will be the second cousin twice removed of all battles!
This film discussed sounds fascinating and I deem it worth watching if at all possible.
US invasion force of 5 troops wiped out at the hands of two Iranian land drones firing 30MM rounds. Single Iranian land-launched rocket artillery round takes out multiple US warships miles off shore. Badly drawn and animated Iranians smile as they say untranslated gibberish. Underground missiles launch with blurred special effects from cleverly hidden positions behind a 20-30 foot diameter dish antenna, more untranslated gibberish as trailer ends.
The only US forces seen are 5 guys who fire their riffles at the Iranian mobile land drones.
