Lotsa luck reproducing THAT kind of pressure in a terrestrial laboratory.
“found inside the gas giants like Jupiter”
No wonder it was so small.
Liftoff from Jupiter is a bitch!
The extra baggage charges $$$
The researchers are scheduled to present at the American Physical Society meeting held March 13-17 in the Big Easy. They indicate a replication of the experiment will occur over the next several weeks to reproduce their work related to metallic hydrogen. Worth noting that the original experiment was open to outside observers.
Two possibilities exist for the loss of the sample which was 1/5 th the diameter of a human hair: It’s so minuscule that it was lost among the debris of an exploded diamond—or it was not stable and converted back to normal hydrogen when containment pressure was lost.
