Connecticut Ranked As State With Worst Fiscal Status – Second Only To Puerto Rico
Breitbart ^ | 3 Jun 2016 | Dr. Susan Berry 3 Jun 2016

Connecticut – led by a Democrat legislature and governor and represented by an entirely Democrat congressional delegation – ranks as dead last among the states, owing largely to its massive debt obligations and unfunded liabilities.

According to Mercatus, Connecticut’s fiscal state is “poor across all categories,” which cover cash, budget, long-term, citizen service-level, and trust fund solvency.

The study finds:

On the basis of its fiscal solvency in five separate categories, Connecticut ranks 50th among the US states and Puerto Rico for its fiscal health. Connecticut’s fiscal position is poor across all categories. With between only 0.46 and 1.19 times the cash needed to cover short-term liabilities, Connecticut’s revenues matched only 94 percent of expenses, producing a deficit of $505 per capita. The state is heavily reliant on debt to finance its spending. With a negative net asset ratio of −0.88 and liabilities exceeding assets by 34 percent, per capita debt is $9,077. Total debt is $20.88 billion. Unfunded pensions are $83.31 billion on a guaranteed-to-be-paid basis, and other postemployment benefits (OPEB) are $19.53 billion. Total liabilities are equal to 53 percent of total state personal income

Under Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-WFP), the state has seen massive tax increases and exits by swarms of businesses. In 2014, a Gallup poll found that about half of the residents of Connecticut polled said that, if given the chance, they would move out of the state.

Dannel Malloy lies about the governor M. Jodi Rell 2004–2011. Rell supported the state’s constitutional spending cap resisting pressure from groups favoring expanded state government spending which would bypass the cap. As a result, in late June 2006 the state reported a $910 million surplus for the prior year and the state’s Rainy Day Fund exceeded $1 billion in deposits for the first time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jodi_Rell

In other related news, GE is moving out of Connecticut.

The part that escapes me is, they're moving to Massachusetts(!), not Texas or Florida or Ireland.

Hold on! I am totally insulted. As a resident of the loser state of Illinois, I would like to point out that we are still the most debt-ridden state in the union. Our debt may not have come due yet. But rest assured we can’t pay it. However, I am sure we can roll it over a few more times because banks still want to pay our politicians off by passing our bad loans off to their “favorite” customers.

The definition of insanity, it has been said, is to do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

I present to you proof that dem’s are fully insane on this proof alone. There is plenty more but just this one thing in CT, IL, CA, WA, OR, and other dem top heavy states are all in financial ruin just putting off the day they go bankrupt.

A non insane people would vote for different leadership but not dems because they are, wait for it, yes; INSANE!

It's kind of funny how they're always accusing Republican voters of voting against their self-interests as they raise everyone's taxes and destroy their state economies. They're actually convinced that we're the dumbasses.

Malloy ordering his police to disregard federal immigration laws while his state economy is sinking under the weight of its own debt and taxes pretty well illustrates who the dumbasses are if you ask me.

The voters in Connecticut have only themselves to blame. But........I’ll give them some slack, because, at least 20% of the votes cast in Connecticut are illegal, criminal and fraud!!! Wake up, fools, dump the Democrat Party, human scum & vermin, or, perish with these idiots & crooks!!!

Take a good look in the mirror, folks....you are the problem and, you all are to blame!!! You made your own bed...now suffer with it!!! Any vote cast for any Democrat is a vote to destroy the American Republic!!!

Malloy is a hardcore leftist wackjob. He makes Virginia’s governor “Terry the Thug McAuliffe” seem sane and that is hard to do.

Got to change the old book title from the “Connecticut Yankee” to the Connecticut CommieNut”. Much more truthful
