I wanted to understand what Trump voters liked and didn't like about the president, what they were nervous about, what they thought about the left's response so far, and most importantly, what would convince them not to vote for him in the future.
Obviously, this is not a poll and not "data." But I think narratives are really important.
Here's what I heard.
The TL;DR quote is this:
"You all can defeat Trump next time, but not if you keep mocking us, refusing to listen to us, and cutting us out. It's Republicans, not Democrats, who will take Trump down."
and
"The left is more intolerant than the right." Note: This concept came up a lot, with real animosity in otherwise pleasant conversations.
"Stop calling us racists. Stop calling us idiots. We aren't. Listen to us when we try to tell you why we aren't. Oh, and stop making fun of us."
"I'd love to see one-tenth of the outrage about the state of our lives out here that you have for Muslims from another country. You have no idea what our lives are like."
"I'm so tired of hearing about white privilege. I'm white but way less privileged than a black person from your world. I have no hope my life will ever get any better."
"I am tired of feeling silenced and demonized. We have mostly the same goals and different opinions about how to get there. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you're wrong. But enough with calling all of us the devil for wanting to try Trump. I hate Hillary and think she wants to destroy the country of us, but I don't demonize her supporters."
"I'm angry that they're so outraged now but were never outraged over an existing terrible system."

I read the article and found that he did a far better job of reporting than “reporters”
If he’d asked me my reply would have been; “Quit projecting your own racism, sexism, fascism and lack of tolerance on me! I am not speaking in some some conservative ‘code’ and I don’t own a dog much less a ‘dog whistle’ that I blow over certain issues. Of, and start actually LOOKING and CARING about the criminality of your sh*tbag candidates. Start looking what part of the political spectrum crime and violence come from. Then apologize for it and make an honest effort to change your ways.”
What is the meaning of “TL;DR”?
TL;DR = Too Long, Didn’t Read.
It is hidden characters in most documents. Means new line formatting wise. It was a cut and paste error. Bug in the software... either theirs or FR. Should not show. Is instructions to the “formatting engine”.
Lots of “What don’t you like about Trump?” questions, but at least he’s reporting it without filters.
He’s trying to learn how to turn Trump supporters for 2018 and 2020. If you start seeing more of this, it’s a sign the Progressives are starting to give up on their current fascism.
LOL....
New line in other words.
This is a good example of “dealing.”
They’re getting past the rage stage, which is good.
There was a fundamental shift in the Democrat party away from working white class folks to the various identity groups.
That working white (honestly all the working class) punished Dems in the election.
The “Blue Wall” states fell to Trump.
Trump positioned himself as an independent - a populist nationalist - running against BOTH parties and the MSM.
It was a brilliant strategy.
There was a key moment where Trump spoke out against the Iraq war in a debate. MAJOR heat came his way, but it was a brilliant move.
Papers not endorsing him, the RINOs that ran away.
ALL of that helped Trump. It was time for an outsider and everyone obliged Trump in making him the ultimate outsider.
No, it’s not. It’s an internet acronym/idiom, meaning: “Too long; didn’t read.”
He’s wrong. It’s a slang acronym that means: “Too Long; didn’t read.”
Yesterday’s jingoism.
Good luck pronouncing that abbreviation.
The remarks of doubters shows me these are NOT all Trump voters.
Dear dude, you run a tech company. Stop focusing your industry power on socialist just-us issues that do not promote the tech industry or financial return. Same with Yahooooo Finance.
End your war on white professional heterosexual males. Blacklisting in promotions, hiring, and salary increasing leads to resentment.
Million dollar Marxists telling the working class that they must bite down and pay more taxes for welfare and medical plans is a punishment that we cannot bear.
Ask this Tech Guru why if Hillary was so suited to ru(i)n this nation of ours, he doesn’t hire her as his CIO and let her mismanage his company’s secrets, lobby their money for her own personal profit, and give her a glowing review when she is repeatedly caught lying in an investigation?
At job interviews, does he ever ask the question, “tell me about a time that something went wrong on the job and how did you handle it?”
I’m not so sure. It had the same thing in the original article. I’ve never seen any copyediting codes called TL;DR. Do you know exactly what these mean? I’m leaning towards hipster lingo.
So the jackass that wrote the article put his “TL;DR” in there and sent it for publishing without pulling out his comments - showing that he didn’t even read the damned quotes. This needs to be saved. I’m going back to fetch it. This just proves the entire point of quotes.
Stands for “Too Long; Didn’t Read”. I was seeing that in email newsgroups 20 years ago. It’s nothing new. Has nothing to do with hipster culture or a Microsoft Word glitch.
Someone would post to the email news group some lengthy diatribe and another person would just simply reply “TL;DR” while deleting extraneous bits of information. That was back in the days when one had to pay by the hour to read stuff on the internet.
starting to give up on their current fascism
no just means they gone into stealth mode- to hide true intenntions
