He was in a very simple aircraft. There was nothing to distract him including the weather.

Didn’t this guy crash within the last couple years? Maybe he should hang it up.

He blew it, that's for sure, but the video does not show him passing "overhead" of the 737 on the taxiway, and I wouldn't consider it "dangerously close".
The foreshortened depth of view from the side shot makes it look worse than when you see the same sequence from 90 degrees off-angle.
Fake news.

I heard the audio tape the other day between Ford and the tower. He sounded a little confused, and at first, reported that he was flying a helicopter, then quickly corrected himself. It may be time for him to hand in his pilot’s licence .

Nice landing, wrong runway (taxiway).
To: RummyChick
There have been rumors that Ford is starting to have some issues. Its probably time for him to stop flying, and perhaps even driving.

In the interest of safety, I would gladly take that Husky off his hands.

Mr. GG2 hasn’t yet looked at the video but he’s landed at John Wayne many times and he said it is a confusing airport.

He should concentrate on Calista’s taxiway. The FAA doesn’t care about that.

No big deal. 737 held short of the runway, but really should have held short of the taxi way as well. Ford lined up on the correct runway and goofed on final lining up on taxiway instead. Nobody was in danger and he landed a bit long of the threshold seeing the 737 in front of him before executing a final descent. He did not see it soon enough to declare a missed approach which is what he should have done. He will be given an evaluation by the FAA and could have his license suspended or be required to take a fitness test before being allowed to continue flying.
