While the main event is interesting due to the rep and record of Fedor, Bellator seems to be the home for over-the-hill MMA fighters.

I’ll go with Fedor, Thomson, Thompson, and the guy who is not Josh Crotchcheck.

For UFC I’ll take Lewis and Lombard.

true- that and ‘up and coming’ fighters too- those that haven’t quite reached UFC skill levels yet-

It’s fine to have a venue for older fighters- but let’s face it, it’sw not up to UFC skill levels really- not quite- but that’s fine- still like watching the old greats fight- They are still very dangerous fighters- and still quite skilled- but it is a little sad seeing careers winding down or coming to a halt- still remember Mirko Crocops (sp?) career winding down- Roy nelson I believe it was, said he was sad to have to have fought him because he used to be such a legend, and it was sad to see him go down- or something like that- I agreed- I wanted to see him keep going- but he didn’t- Couldn’t- his competition was just too young and strong-

Still remember Chuck Lidell getting to the point where he was getting knocked out- they say that when you get to the point where you get knocked out when you never used to before, it’s the beginning of the4 end- that certainly was the case with Chuck- Before that happened- He could take a heck of a punch- I would have liked to have seen him in match with anderson silva though- when chuck was at peak-

Mitrione left the UFC because he got eye-poked so severely it broke his orbital socket and there wasn’t even a foul called. He must feel like he fell into a pile of elephant dung and came out smelling of petunias, because that eye poke got him a fight he otherwise never could have dreamed of getting: Fedor.

When Bjorn Rebney offered Matt the fight, the opponent’s name on the contract was blacked out. Mitrione asked Rebney WTF? but Rebney just smiled and said, This is really big, Matt. Trust me, you want this fight. He only found out who his opponent was at the media event for Bellator 172, along with a few hundred screaming fans.

Dana’s arrogance has been driving away UFC talent for some time. And the new owners have a different business philosophy that (IMHO) doesn’t bode well for the organization. I think that inside of five years, the Fertitta brothers will buy back the UFC from William Morris for half the $4 billion they were paid for it.

Interesting and cogent points you made in your post #8. I agree Bellator has some up-and-comers as well as slightly over-the-hill former UFCers

You hate Kos eh? I never really cared for him but I heard he’s a Trump supporter so I have to like him now.

Other guy wins by TKO, if Koscheck can’t beat some minor leaguer who’s almost as old as he is, he should probably hang it up.

No, no, I don’t hate Crotchcheck. I have even enjoyed watching him fight in the UFC, because the dude always stepped up and took a fight and worked hard, so I have to respect that.

I don’t care about any of that controversial stuff that happened with that one fight where it looked like he was faking being hit.

But I do love that nickname that Daley laid on him. Crotchcheck! That’s hilarious :D

I know those two do not care for each other.

I’m happy I got this pick right. I figured no way josh has been out this long and is going to be able to come in and clean up, and looks like I was right.

I think he would also get slayed by Daley at this point. Daley is good.

Ugh I didn’t hear, but they announced it 3 hours ago, the main event is off, Meathead is sick, one source says kidney stones, he’s in the hospital.

Egad!

Buddy of mine had a stone between his kidney and bladder, and not that large of one as I understand it.

He said it was enough pain to bring a grown man to his knees.

Sucks that the fight is off, but hope Meathead does not suffer too much with this.

Very dominant but boring as usual. Kongo should have found a way to finish that guy.

I shoulda known better than to pick against Cheick “The Decision” Kongo...

They should make a rule where you cannot become the champion by decision. You have to actually finish the champ in order to be the champ. That would rule Kongo out by default.

If it’s kidney stones- aint no way he’d be fighting- I get between 40 and 80 per year- most go through with moderate to semi-painful pain, but every couple of months one will cripple me for 8 hours minimum- pain so bad it causes blackouts and vomiting-

I went to hte hospital once- what a heck of a ride that was- and they did absolutely nothign for me- no pain meds- nothing- just monitored- so now i don’t even bother going anymore-

It is astonishing how such a small stone- not much bigger than a pencil lead point, can cause so much dang pain- I have never been liver hit before, but I imagine it is akin to kidney stone pain- you’ll see people buckle and crumple getting liver hit- that’s about what kidney stone pain is like-

hopefully he’s alright- probably happened when losing weight or something- became dehydrated - which can cause buildup of minerals that cause stones- because hte body doesn’t have the fluid to flush the minerals out properly

[[He said it was enough pain to bring a grown man to his knees.]]

Brother he aint just a lyin- it not only brings a man to his knees- but can be so intense it causes a blackout- and throwing up which makes it worse because it creates pressure ‘down there’ where the stone is- basically there are two things about a stone that cause pain- one is it blocks urine- so it builds up and creates pressure- and that alone hurts, but also the stones that cause the worst pain are ones that are sharp- as it slices it’s way through jabbing, poking- etc-

Women rejoice when men get stones, because they get to say “Now you men know the kind of pain childbirth brings”

My answer to them is “Perhaps- but my goodness- I’ve given birth to probably 20-25 painful stones, and countless semi painful stones- how many kids did you have?”

Pitbull with the KO, and I think I’m 0 for 4 with a couple strikeouts.
