I’ve been reading a lot about the LCP and LC9s and one problem I’ve come across is some people have had the magazine release on them when they grip the gun because they hit the mag release button. That’s something that should never happen in a self defense gun. The LC9s also has other magazine problems.

I carry an LC9S and have had zero problems and I shoot a lot. I hit very well with it and the trigger is just about perfect for a gun that is intended to be used in a stressful situation. I will add that I have small hands for a guy so it fits me very well.

I have an LC9, bought it new. The only problem I’ve ever had with it is the first time I shot it, racking the slide it did not go into battery/close completely.
A shot with the heel of my hand nudged it forward and then no problems after that. I also removed the mag disconnect. Takes about 5-10 minutes, utube shows you how.
I wouldn’t go any smaller than a 9mm for a defense weapon, and that would be a back-up. The corollary to the #1 rule: `Bring a gun’ is: 2. Bring enough gun.

I have, until I lost it (obligatory), a LCP in .380, I never experienced that problem with a mag. The only real problem for me is my grip, mag housing too short. I have ‘Large’ hands! I get around the grip issue with extended mags. It’s a great pocket pistol for something up close and personal, like mobs of 10 or less.

I don’t care for the LCP. It’s really too small for my big hands and it just hurts to shoot the darn thing. I chucked it; didn’t care for it at all. Now show me a nice S&W liteweight revolver in .38 caliber and about $380.... Pretty good option and just over the $
