Smart fellah. I haven’t taken meds for years, may be the oldest freeper posting. Gym daily, organic foods, no wheat or other gluten, lotsa steak, bacon, fish, eggs, tons of veggies, salads galore. Nutritional supplements galore. Avoid sugar. Have had good experiences with acupuncture, abysmal experiences with allopathic medicine, doctors are historically NOT my friends.
In fact, a friendly MD told me decades ago that I’d better not be in an accident because they’d kill me trying to save my life. All anesthetics, including novocaine, are far far too strong for my system.. My dentist gives me 1/4 “prescribed” dose and can do a root canal, I’ll dance out of the office and go shopping afterwards…no pain meds for residual pain.
I really don’t think I’m exceptional. I just ask a lot of questions because I don’t like that drugged feeling. Many people are probably as sensitive as I am but don’t dare question their docs, accept all those stupid unnecessary side effects. I believe that side effects, if they occur, are symptoms of poisoning and the drug should be tossed in the garbage immediately. If your doc prescribes a drug to counteract the side effects of the first drug, you’re on a very slippery slope leading, perhaps, to death. Walk out of his/her office immediately and seek some other kind of treatment.
My current MD is from Nigeria, may be the best MD I’ve ever had because HE LISTENS TO ME…plus he’s quite smart about alternative remedies. AND he goes to my gym.
I do realize that some day far in the future, I may actually need an allopathic drug to save my life. Since I’m ancient already, I’ll decide then whether to take it.
All of which pertains to the extraordinary cost of health/death care in this country. Wish the Donald would authorize alternative therapies that would cut the healthcare budget by billions and make seniors and younger citizens healthier.
I started taking tumeric everyday about a year ago for osteoarthritis which runs in my family. By this time in the winter I am usually in a lot of pain. This year I have had almost no problem. Its an amazing alternative.
