The data was purposely culled to yield the result Goodel wanted.

If Brady didn’t destroy the phone, which he was obligated to provide under the CBA, he wouldn’t have been punished as severely.

So that makes it OK for them to manufacture evidence?

Actually rule 2 has no game time ball pressure requirement. Ball suitability is solely the refs responsibility. Read the rule. It is very short and quite open to interpretation.

Brady should have never been required to hand over his phone or else!

Is the NFL involved in globull warming research?

That was pretty much the greatest football game, SB or not, EVER! It was a once in a lifetime event. They did everything they could for NEW NOT to win...and they STILL did.

Now the haters have NOTHING to say anymore.

Brady was railroaded.

You mean to say all those words at the top amounted to just that?

I don’t think the term “fake news” could possibly be more overused than it is. and I don’t think it could possibly be any more meaningless than it is.

it’s a Rorschach ink blot for “stuff I don’t like”. I can’t wait for the next value-free buzzword to come along and supplant “fake news”.

yeah, because the first and fourth amendments mean nothing when compared to the integrity of a “sport” that is only slightly less of a hopeless spectacle than professional wrestling.

When the NFL can’t even say WHICH gauge the referee used before the game and has to resort to obvious guesswork the whole thing should have been laughed out of existence.

the whole thing should have been laughed out of existence.

It essentially was, until Goodell reinstated Brady's suspension by fiat. There's a reason he was literally booed off stage at the Lombardy Trophy presentation at the end of the Super Bowl and Terry Bradshaw had to take over.

If the NFL really cared so much about consistent inflation, they would use nitrogen to inflate the balls. Nitrogen is much less susceptible to changing pressure when temps change. The pressure would remain stable at room temp as at 32F.

It's not so much the nitrogen as such, but the water vapor contained in regular air that makes the difference! It's "dry" gas you want.

Here's an idea:

How about there's ONE game ball, used by both teams, for the entire game.

Inflate it with ONE gauge at the start of the game, quit dancing on pinheads, and just play the damned game.

Stop the clock for a few seconds to wipe it down if necessary, and maybe ONE spare ball in case some 400 pounder falls on and explodes the first one.

Any game that hinges on 1/2 psi of air needs better players.

It’s a sport worth billions and they can’t even get the air pressure uniform for both teams. To my understanding they gave quarterbacks lee way to customize the pressure to their own preference in order to increase offense for the lowest denominator fan. So how big of a deal can it possibly be?
