She then beheld a vision of Christ, who said, “But Theresa, this is the way I treat all my friends”. And the Theresa said “and that’s why you have so few of them”.

True story - the people who accompanied her warned her against taking such a journey because of her ill health. She was thrown from her horse in a torrential rainstorm into a deep puddle of mud - She then beheld a vision of Christ, who said, “But Theresa, this is the way I treat all my friends”. And the Theresa said “and that’s why you have so few of them”.
