It’s quite sad. The article doesn’t specify that black people should follow all these tips to celebrating black Americans. I suppose they are hoping white people do these things as well. I have deeply studied black history in America and will continue to do so out of personal interest. I buy many products from an African company, because they are better than others. I am not even anywhere near racist.
But what about European Americans, mostly just called white, and ignored? My kids are BOMBARDED by glorification of African, Hispanic, Asian cultures but their ancestors mostly came from Europe. My kids are like the black kids in the 1950s only studying Americans who didn’t look anything like them. It wasn’t right then, but it’s not right now. White American history is a history that dare not speak its name.
Just because we don't celebrate the same Americans is no reason to disregard the ones who have done well by our country.
If I needed surgery and told my doctor would be Dr. Ben Carson I would be happy, if I was going before a judge Justice Thomas would be my choice and if I needed to design an economic system Dr. Thomas Sowell is second to none.
Armstrong and Fitzgerald have both cheered me when I am sad and added to the joy when I was happy.
Or we could ignore it for the BS that it is.
Let’s celebrate blacks like Justice Thomas.
Ignore an entire month dedicated to pedestalizing a race of people who are a millstone around the necks of America!

Some pretty loud silence there DUMBGRUNT.
I remember a black comedian joking that they got the shortest month...maybe related to your point.
I patronize a Black owned business every other week. A service station, owned by a retired Marine. Guess what, he provides excellent service at a competitive price, the reason I patronize his shop !
“And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence”
