While black excellence deserves to be celebrated every day, Black History Month offers a dedicated time to pay attention to the power and resilience of the black community.

I try to think of all of the people I know of who are named “Black.” Then I try to imagine how history will view them. Then i get me some fried chicken and sit on the porch with my shoes off.
Truth be known American blacks have it better in the USA than any other country in the world.
Well, they do have to offset to have White History month...
I got one.
Treat black Americans just like they are actual Americans and skip all the special months and stuff.
Kid of like I’m sure 99% of us do already.
Ignore it x 28
Unfortunately most of black history is nothing to celebrate. I think I will go on just judging them by their actions and not their skin color.
The reason “black excellence deserves to be celebrated every day” is because there is so little of it.
I used to work a ‘Black Irish’ guy!
Not famous but a good worker and fun storyteller!
Some White chick telling blacks how to celebrate Black History Month?
Just dress in black, listen to “Black Sabbath”, find some black humor on-line, drink black coffee, and read the history of The Black and Tans.
Lots of ways to celebrate black history month.

Seattle District Court Judge Robart used the term “Black Lives Matter.”
Robart was born in Seattle in 1947, which would make him 69 or 70, according to a federal court informational site. He seems to have spent much of his life near home in Washington state. He graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla in 1969. And while he did go to law school in that other Washington Washington, D.C. he returned to the city of his birth to practice law from 1973 to 2004.
He was nominated by President George W. Bush to be a federal judge in the Western District of Washington late in 2003 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in June 2004. His rulings are replete with the legalese that routinely marks judicial orders references to “all of the foregoing” and “declaratory and injunctive relief,” and the like.
But when he speaks aloud from the bench, it seems he minces no words and makes no effort to avoid politically charged language. Last August, in a case in which the U.S. government sued the city of Seattle, alleging excessive use of force by police, Robart spoke softly but emotionally from the bench.
“The importance, to me, of this issue is best demonstrated by the news, which was much reported again today,” the judge said shaking his head, his voice trembling with emotion. “According to FBI statistics, police shootings resulting in deaths involve 41 percent black people despite being only 20 percent of the population living in those cities. Forty-one percent of the casualties, 20 percent of the population,” he said.
He sighed deeply, and then added, in a phrase laden with political significance: “Black Lives Matter.”
BTW, I can remember when Louis Armstrong was welcomed back to his —and my—hometown of New Orleans to serve as a Grand Marshal in one of the Mardi Gras parades. This was in the 60s when the riots were all over the US.
The Black Panthers & the communists unloaded vicious. hateful invective on him, called him a grinning, shuck and jive Uncle Tom, etc.
It was horrific.
My head is so full of info about George Washington Carver, it just might explode. Do we really need a whole month every year to learn about this guy?
Yeah, yeah Judge Robart.
And what percentage of CRIMES do black people commit, despite being only 20% of the population?
Since hard working family men and women who happen to be black are looked down on by the BLM thugs we can’t celebrate black fimilies. Since the BLM thugs call any successful black conservative or professional a self hating “Uncle Tom” “coon” “sell out” we can’t celebrate the achievements of Ben Carson or Clarence Thomas. But BLM celebrates thugs like Michael Brown and thug life riots there’s nothing left to do but play some NWA and rob a liquor store.
