Hipsters beware: the new face of coffee shops doesnt have a face at all. Gordon is the first in a new line of robotic automated baristas at Cafe X in San Francisco, capable of taking and delivering two orders a minute, every minute, all day long.
The process isnt just fast, its streamlined to be completely hassle-free. All you need to do is tap your desired order on your phone, or use the kiosks built-in screen. Within seconds, Gordon will provide you with a perfectly executed beverage of your choice, down to the artisanal beans.

This is what a $15 minimum wage gets you. Robots who work for nothing.
BUT...BUT..BUT...what about those 10,000 refugees who were promised jobs at Starschmucks? Gee, I thought grownups weren’t supposed to make phony promises! Oh, wait! We’re dealing with progressives, silly me.
Money for nuthin’ and your robots work free.
imagine a home robot that does that...
It’s simple math, a robot costs around $35k. A barrista who gets to make $15/hr, thanks to the prog types who pretend to give a shiite about them, based on a 40 hr work wk = $600/wk, approx $31k/yr+ benefits+ 5 workers=over $175/yr. in salaries and benefits. Two $35k robot could theoretically replace 6 workers and can work 24/7 and they don’t show up late or call in sick. Initial cost= $70k. Even factoring in those times they may break down as well as maintenance and future upgrades it doesn’t take an Einstein to see the positive cost/benefit ratio. And here’s the kicker, robots cannot sue for discrimination.....yet. Unless non sentienceness becomes a new “protected class” and/or “gender preference”. HMMM, better keep my big mouth shut! Don’t want to give the libs and trial lawyers any ideas.
Minus the bluetooth connection to your mobile device didn’t this used to be called a ‘coffee vending machine’ 30 years ago?
Awww there goes that smug look of self satisfaction
Ouch
“BUT...BUT..BUT...what about those 10,000 refugees who were promised jobs at Starschmucks”
Hopefully not spreading tuberculosis.
I would add a small flat screen to the robot arm with a face displayed that could change expressions, smile, etc. Variants of the machine could have an on-board water tank and battery powered motorized wheels so that it could easily be moved through a building for temporary installation at events.
Why can’t they design it to look like Rachel Welch?
Lol
