They believe in the accumulation of power and loot.
Socialism/communism/leftism spring from the belief that humans are perfectable. For an example, see the Soviet Man. All it takes, they believe, is for mankind to live in a communal society, freed of greed and envy channeled by education and strict governance. Utopia is the goal. It’s easy to see how socialism resembles religion, and is as difficult to put to rest.
Capitalism is based on the notion that human nature is immutable, so trying to perfect it is impossible. Better we should leave individuals to their own devices and harness their greed and envy to create a more productive society.
Much like ju-jitsu, capitalism uses natural momentum to power civilization, while socialism fights human nature tooth and nail. Not only have utopian societies never succeeded long term, but they never will as long as people are people.
When I see Paleface Lizzy Warren out pulling turnips for a month at Turnip Commune #43,....Communists never do anything like that. YOU do it FOR them.
Don't bet on it. It's all about power.
It’s not that they believe in socialism, it’s
that they don’t believe it’s a threat.
They see it as a manufactured boogieman of the
conservatives, something to scare voters into
voting conservative, while there is no basis
to be afraid of it.
This makes them doubly dangerous.
Open borders.
High income taxes.
High death taxes.
Media and speech controls.
A government run bank.
All credit run by the government.
I’m reading from ‘The Communist Manifesto’.
Mental Illness can only be explained as ..... mental illness.
Even socialism is seen by most thinking people as unrealistic and less than optimal. No one really wants to have a government agency for creating every possible commercial product.
Democrats are liberal. They believe that a highly regulated and taxed private sector can supply all of the needs of the people. Some liberals want just enough regulation and taxation to do the job. Others want so much taxation and regulation that private companies end up becoming mere extensions of government policies and programs.
So no one but silly ideologues want socialism de jure, but a helluva lot of 'em want socialism de facto.
Arguments about the right level and mix of regulations and taxation are what animates the Democrat and Republican Party. The Republicans have had some successes over the years, but the general trend has been in favor of the Democrats. We are coming closer and closer to de facto socialism every decade.
The Democrats have been successful, imho, because they didn't just go for political control. They also went for and achieved control of the universities, the press, the labor unions, the arts, and the entertainment industry.
The good news is that it looks like conservatives are finally getting a chance to take back the press. However, the liberals are still in control of most major universities, arts and entertainment.
If conservatives want to be successful in the long run then we need to either undermine the universities through trade schools, accreditation programs and on-line studies or take them back. Likewise we need to either take back the entertainment industry or replace it with high quality programming that doesn't suck, i.e. not the crapola that Kirk Cameron vomits up.
Today’s DemonRAT is the result of a long, evolutionary evolution that started from the reaction of intellectuals to the industrial revolution. It has been a long progression which rejects the basic tenants of our Founding Fathers and the Constitution. It began with people like John Dewey who wrote, “Natural rights and natural liberties exist only in the kingdom of mythological social zoology.”
For a good look at the progression of Marxism in America, read this good analysis I urge all my fellow FRiends to read it:
For every man willing to do the hard work, there are ten more who are willing to let him. For every woman who earns her paycheck, there are ten more who also want her paycheck. This truth is the fatal flaw in Socialism/Communism. It comes down to the worst of the traits of the human race - laziness.
Hollywood definitely is immersed in the socialist culture that influences the creative process. What they fail to realize is the orientation of their world view puts limits on their message and brings the audience themes that are so overdone that they are trite, boring and losing them money. Hollywood had better wake up and smell the coffee (another trite expression) or their funds to support their Marxist politicians will go away.
A few random thoughts:
Democrats always accuse Republicans (sub liberals and
conservatives if preferred) of moving to the right.
But by definition this is a fallacy. It is liberalism
which introduces new and whacky ideas. Conservative
philosophy is to keep what is tried and true. For
example, In 1965 both major parties did not support
gay marriage. Who changed their minds?
In socialism who is among the most powerful? I submit
that it is those who control the distribution of
increasingly scarcer products. They can and will
supply their friends and family with the goods
and resources while trading with other controllers
for other commodities. The products become more
scarce because there the masses lack incentives to
produce other options and more quantities. It is
these people who comprise the wealthy class for the
most part while the masses are expected to accept it.
As the thread article indicates those who preach
socialistic ideals never see themselves as farm
or factory workers. They consider themselves to
be the teachers and philosophers and leaders who
get a free ride as such. Again, the masses are
expected to either to accept it or work their way
up the ranks to gain status.
“to enrich themselves.”
No better way to enrich yourself by controlling an entire economy (which is what communism is).
But it’s not just money - it’s power.
With communism, the govt folks pretty much have absolute power. They can do what they want w/o repercussion, as long as they keep the right people happy.
“Hollywood definitely is immersed in the socialist culture that influences the creative process. “
When it comes to pay and compensation, aren’t they capitalists?
Or they believe that THEY will be the ones with the total power.
Written in a simple, understandable way, this unpretentious post could be the post of the year. The Dem party is about Marxism/Socialism only as arguments to justify the true motivation—greed. Dems are greedy. If you analyze most all of their policies by applying the lens of greed, you will find that looting the richest nation in history is their primary motivation. They appeal to this base motive by dressing it up with justifications of a thinly noble character. But, it is just greed. You can see this in their populating the party with more poor people and dangling the carrot of freebies in front of them all. For the Dem’s it is all about looting. Those of us being looted must fight a constant battle to keep them at bay.
They are useful idiots. Capitalism is indeed a contradiction being used for their message.
Only the agitators in college believe it. The rest are just opportunists grasping for power.
Why yes, it’s the Democrat Thug Party.
Yes, which means they are useful idiots. They equate communism with charity.
Boris Pasternak, who wrote Dr. Zhivago, was actually a believer in communism and was totally astonished that the communists, once in power, banned his book.
The same stupid look will be on all the faces of Hollywood if they get their way.
