10mbs DSL/wifi router. I had hughesnet. I became almost suicidal at the cost and the throttling. The second DSL became available I switched. I am lucky.

They keep promising high speed internet here but it never happens. Six years ago, the telephone repairman told me they would have it in about 5 months. Never happened.

I have seen several stories on local TV stations saying some outfit is about to bring it to this area but again, nothing ever happens.

I really can’t afford Hughesnet but I have no choice. Either that or nothing.

I’m very thankful to be located to a main fiber optic cable. Makes for fast internet and very, very few outages. I get 15gb for cheap too. I research at home. It helps.

60mbs, wifi router - does not matter what speed. It is a server problem, and perhaps also due to the seemingly antique code used to make the site. Code problem shown by the lag rendering the sidebar, and post reply. There is server problem shown by the advise to lower one’s site preferences; this lowers the load on it, I believe.

FR is due for a code modernization and a server upgrade of some sort; this does not mean that the appearance or functionality has to change.

Perhaps Jim and John could start a separate fund raising just to fix these problems. Then again I could be ‘all wet’.
