I am a classical music fan. My children all play instruments and go to the symphony and opera. I freely donate to our local classical music radio station. That being said, I think cuts to PBS, and the NEA will force the classical music industry to innovate and figure out exactly why audiences are no longer listening. It will force the industry to either solve it’s problems or die. In the end we may end up with a more vibrant arts scene, since artists can no longer accept mediocrity at tax payer expense.
