The Los Angeles Chargers' first logo lasted about 48 hours.

On Saturday, team officials said they had scrapped their first logo, which bore an uncanny resemblance to the Los Angeles Dodgers' timeless blue-and-white 'LA' crest.

Would have been better with a few Apple and Android phone chargers. More of the younger folks would identify

You know that no fewer than six people, including the owner had to sign-off on that logo. Brilliance.

Maybe so, but at least the people of San Diego didn't get bullied into paying for a new stadium.
Worse comes to worst - fold the franchise.

It looked exactly like the Dodgers logo with a bit of a lightning bolt coming out of the A.

living in a town that received one of the last two expansion franchises I can honestly say that having an nfl team is without a doubt a take the good with the bad situation. Personally I could take ‘em or leave ‘em.

“People of San Diego didn’t get bullied into paying for a new stadium.”

Talk to the voters and mayor in Santa Clara how the new Levi Stadium isn’t benefiting them at all.

Logo aside, they would fill their stadium, come what may, if they’d change their colors to red, white and green.

Then they could keep their old logo (in a manner of speaking), and rename the team as “Los Relampagos”. Wow! They’d outdraw the Rams by a damnsight.

rename the team as “Los Relampagos”

Then, in a short time, the name could be shortened to "Los Pagos", which, of course, means "The Payments".

They should revive the original Los Angeles Chargers logo:

The logo was the least of Dean Spanos mistakes.

This really bothers me - and I am not even a Chargers fan.

I’m all for owners deciding what is best for their own property, but they also have to consider the long-term impact on the NFL brand, their fan base, and public perception

The NFL to me is seeming more and more like politically-correct, C-Suite whores who will always grab the short-term $$

Especially when compared to the mother of all logo fails, the UK's Office of Government Commerce...

Donald Sterling walked away with over $2 billion when he sold the LA Clippers. Spanos will do the same.
