No, it was the rare earth elements, including cerium, strontium sulfide and pure titanium, found on the J.c. Penny clip on tie. He may have indeed been a tacky dresser though, but that is not the new clue. 8>)

Considering that back then these elements were not in widespread usage, it is a good new clue to follow.

Curiosity makes me want to know who this person is that apparently successfully pulled off the heist.

A clip-on tie makes sense. It can’t get hooked up while jumping or hold you back if someone grabs it.
