We have had a couple of occasions in recent weeks that the bread isle was almost entirely empty.
Course it matters not, because I always keep some boxes of quick mix breads on hand, beer for quick beer bread, and plenty of flour, wheat, and yeast to make my own. Any way he had to try a different brand of bread that what he likes.
If my husband was picky about bread he’d be in trouble. In the winter I bake what we need but in summer he gets whichever bread is on the day-old cart. Poor man.
I think he’s just glad he no longer has to do the shopping and cooking for himself. He was 50 and single when we met. In his previous marriage he had a wife who did not cook. He is one of the few men I’ve known who understands what it is like to have to make breakfast, work a full day, do the grocery shopping then come home and have to cook supper for a whole family. Since we have been together (almost 10 years) he has never once complained about food I’ve prepared for him. Even tho I don’t work outside our home anymore I am convinced that is the reason he hasn’t complained even when I’ve not cooked my best.
He might be scared to tell me I’m not buying the kind of bread he wants LOL
Daffodils are up about 4 inches. Those are 3rd growth Redwood trees behind the sign....
Thanks for the pics. My good intentions went out the window. Woke up late, drank coffee, still tired. Gonna have to shake a leg tomorrow to make up for all the laziness this weekend.
May have to ban myself from the computer till I get some work done. LOL
Sign I inherited from my Mother In Law:
TWO CHOICES FOR DINNER: TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!
LOL That’s my philosophy too.
Find out what kind of bread he prefers for his birthday
and remind him how lucky he really is ! LMAO !
TIK, I know 2 special things he likes for his birthday, he gets them both. One is the birthday cake his mom traditionally made for him. The other... well... sorry guys for generalization, but...he is a man.
I think this every week as you post photos and comments. But this week must shout out
YOU ARE A BLESSED MAN!
such a beautiful location aside from your beautiful garden. We may ridicule California’s politics and kooky people but folks like you and the Robinson’s remind us why California is a wonderful place full of great people.
BIG ‘seed swap’ in Pikeville, KY on Saturday, April 1st. 500 attendees from ten states last year, expect even MORE this year. Can’t wait!
Oh my! That is spectacular!
FR is back on line. thanks to John Robinson...
Our weather is still on this wild roller coaster ride and once again, today is cold, wet and dreary! Some sunshine would be helpful right about now. The ground is saturated; in fact, we have almost 2 feet above normal for water at this time of the year. Hope that puts us in a good position for the summer months. Despite everything, the garden pots are doing rather well. Pansies have been blooming non-stop. The daffy bulbs were planted last month and already have pushed up about 1 to 1 1/2 inches. I have been pouring over the on-line seed providers, with visions of summer dancing in my head! lol
Am I on this list yet?
