All that I have are flowers that I’m over wintering. I have a geranium that is still blooming (one blossom) and one pot of impatiens. I have two beautiful streptocarpella (false violets) and one has been blooming profusely. I’m even trying to overwinter a lantana that I pulled from the garden. It’s not blooming but all the leaves are growing back since I cut it way back. We’ll see what survives the winter!

She plays guitar and sings. Her husband plays lead guitar and a friend plays the box drum. When they do a gig, I often will do a few songs as well.

I am somewhat retired from gigging full time myself, but I have been doing music as my “job” for over 30 years. I still teach and do a lot of “open mike” nights. Mostly Classic rock and Blues.

I need to get some fertilizer for my lemon tree, and pick the ones I have, so I can get some blooms going - love the smell.

Nice! I do love good rock and roll. Who do you consider the classics? I think some of us each have our own faves, and what one considers important rockers are not so much to others, I love The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin and many from the 60s and 70s. So many options. I ask because my youngest is in a band that I tell him they are bringing rock to their generation.

Sorry to others if I’m diverting attention from the thread at hand.

Love the sleeping pup. Still have my mom’s (RIP) dogs, about 11 and 12 years old, thanks to some friends. I know she’s happy they’re being taken care of and loved.

Well, for example, here is a typical set i might do:
Wish you Were Here (Pink Floyd)
Wild Night (Van Morisson)
You Can’t Always get What You Want (The rolling Stones)
Dreams (Fleetwood Mac)
Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues (Bob Dylan)
Rumours of Glory (Bruce Cockburn)
Angie (Stones)
Runaway (Del Shannon)
Time (Pink Floyd)
Wild Horses (The Stones)
Ripple (The Dead)
Uncle John’s Band (The Dead)
Say You Love Me (Fleetwood mac)

you know...like that.

Love these! You and I think along the same lines then! I’m excited about my son’s band, because their live show is so entertaining and energetic. It’s such a competitive industry though.

I haven’t been a baseball fan since Tom Seaver (sp) was pitching and Brooks Robinson had third base nailed down.

My dad was pretty excited because the Sox hadn’t won since Man O War was a foal.

About 30 days. You DO need grow-lights, though. There’s not enough light, even in a south-facing window, to do the trick in the winter months.

I just couldn’t take it anymore, LOL!

Me too. Cabin fever sets in quickly during ice storms.

We may be in for some really YUCKY icy/snowy/slushy weather this coming week. Keeping a close eye on the forecast, that’s for sure!

I probably hate the month of January the most up here on, ‘The Frozen Tundra.’ There’s little rhyme or reason to it; you’re either encased in ice, or smothered in snow!

But, we’re nearly half-way through it, so we’ve got THAT going for us. ;)

But February never ends. It’s the longest month - even though it’s 28 days.

But February means a lot of CHOCOLATE! You either get it or give it or buy it at a deep discount on February 15th, so there’s that! ;)

sockmonkey :" Thinking of one of our gardeners who left us January 22, 2016.
JRandomFreeper, you are missed. RIP."

I think and pray for him every night - he had a special spirit, and a willingness to share and help others.
I miss him too !

Carthego delenda est :" Unfortunately I have two environazi/libtard neighbors so harvesting the deer isn’t an option."

A pellet gun, or bb gun fired within the house serves as a sound suppressor, and can't be heard by the neighbors.
Don't ask me how I know !
Consider it as a 'persuader' to move and eat elsewhere !

If ANYTHING good came out of the sixties, i would have to say the music.

The cool thing is that the young folks want to hear these songs!

I will be ready for Medicare in a year, but they LISTEN to me!

Yes. That long stretch (over 80 years) was called “The Curse of the Bambino”.
