I was wondering about the "emergency contraception" option anxiously desired by a 17-year-old girl. There was some article yesterday (SF Chronicle?) about the rush to get IUDs before Trump is sworn in. Why the emergency?
Here's my answer, a partial one: We are in a culture where the idea of sex as part of a casual dating relationship is automatically assumed. I've seen many posters on this board refer to sex outside of marriage. It's part of the current culture. Take a couple steeped in that culture, you're already in trouble. Add alcohol, even more trouble.
The sick ugly runs all the way to the soul of this one.
Agree with your post but most married people use some type of contraception as well. And I’ll bet IUD is more popular among married people than unmarried.
Both married and unmarried people can have “unwanted” children and real options to address this are quite limited:
1) Prevent the human race from becoming intimate too many times. Never happening without 24/7 surveillance of everyone.
2) Outlaw contraception and collectively pay for or adopt every child born that parents cannot afford. People will have 10 kids and growth of the welfare state will lead to disaster.
3) Attempt to institute a worldwide religion that controls overpopulation. Never happening unless you do #1 first.
4) Promote contraception and use abortion when it fails. Horrifying but it seems to be the only option to keep humanity alive and not under a boot
I said “attractive women”. I’m aware the overall rate is not nearly 25% but few women are so attractive that men jump at them 24/7.
Well endowned women are like magnets for unwanted male attention and predators. It’s a curse as much as a blessing. I’d say 100% of such females that live in a city have been at least fondled against their will.
So this 17 year old needed "emergency contraception" because she knew she was going to be raped?
“Emergency Contraception” is for something that already happened. Theoretically an IUD can be used for that AND any future insemination. Rape or not. Before and after. Some IUD also help regulate hormones and prevent severe health issues.
I dont know all the reasons behind this case. Just saying that it’s not always as simple as “keeping your legs closed” and such statements make FR look ignorant
With those exceptions, what difference does a 20-week limit make? If the rape or incest hasn't been reported before the 20-week deadline, why not? If the rape or incest really resulted in a pregnancy and that condition was so deserving of murdering the baby, why wasn't something done prior to the 20-week deadline?
I don’t know that statements like that make us look ‘ignorant ‘. I rather believe that it shows that we believe in higher morals than many others.
Sadly, many teenage and young adult women do not care about anything as much as their own pleasure. The same goes for young men.
Parents have failed to teach good morals. They have also failed to teach about consequences when certain actions are taken (i.e; having sex).
Being leered at is not being raped. Having your butt slapped or pinched is not being raped.
Actual crime data says your anecdotes are BS.
Being groped and held against your will is assault and very traumatic to a female. That happens to nearly 100% of sexually attractive ones.
But about 25% of such women have admitted to me they were ACTUALLY RAPED with penetration. Sometimes by force, sometimes by threats.
As I explained, most rapes are not reported since there is not enough evidence and the victim usually knows the attacker. “He said / she said” isnt enough to do anything. If you know or date someone, there is an explanation why their DNA is on you. So ZERO evidence.
I dont know if all the stories are true. But after the hell I’ve seen some go through and not prove it, I GUARANTEE that the true rate is multiple times what is reported
So if these girls were raised poorly and ignorant, does that mean we should joke about them?
It turns out at least in some cases it is a life's ambition.
Even though I used to be a "choicer" (converted by ultrasound) I cannot comprehend someone like this.
You must run in a very different crowd if every woman you know has been assaulted.
Not every. I’ve just been close to many attractive women over the years due to my connections and it’s close to 25% among those attractive enough to be models and actresses. I think it’s actually even higher for such girls but most dont talk about it.
I’m sure outside the city it’s less often but it’s definitely far more often than the official stats everywhere. And I explained why they go unreported.
The ONLY evidence in most cases is the woman’s testimony and I’ve heard plenty without any personal gain to them.
I believe it but I understand why you dont. You’re not in my shoes and dont know them. I’ve done all I can to explain this hidden problem and that’s all I can do from here
You cannot draw general conclusions from a limited amount of information. You should take a statistics class.
The bottom line is that your experience is known to be far out of the ordinary, and spouting your made up statistics is simply wrong. One hundred percent of attractive women are not assaulted, and 25% are not raped. That you can self-select a small group of women (small vs a normal population) where this is true is irrelevant. That is the sort of lie the left excels at.
You cant create true statistics for something as personal, inflaming and complex as this. You’d be even less accurate then when asking men for their penis size.
I said “attractive” from the very beginning and, yes, such women are out of the ordinary.
Sexual assault is a very common issue for certain women and when it happens is usually swept under the rug for ALL women. That’s not going to change for the foreseeable future without 24/7 surveillance.
Even without statistics, we know it does happen in every corner of the country to all types of women. The least we can do is not insult them and assume they are liars if they claim to be pregnant from it. If some are lying, so be it. That is their burden
