I saw another video of someone in Jamaica cooking this rice and warning everyone to check their rice by heating it in a pan to see if it melted. I don’t know, it sure seems like rice and plastic smell a LOT different.

One of the most disgusting scams is the selling of “gutter oil”, the oils literally taken from street side gutters and grease traps, then heated up to run it through a makeshift filter, and sold as edible cooking oil.

China has had so many real food and environmental scandals, the slightest bit of misinformation or rumor can set the Chinese public off in a frenzy.

Plastics are often the color of rice, and can be ground into granules for any number of applications. Even in China, I suspect this is fake news.
