The violence-plagued City of Chicago is “close” to the Obamas’ hearts, and it “will get a lot of their attention beginning in 2017,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters on Thursday.

In fact, both Earnest and the president himself indicated on Thursday that Obama’s eventual presidential center will have benefits for the city where the murder rate has soared during the Obama presidency. […]

Earnest said Obama will devote time to his “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative, a mentoring program for young minorities.

“I know the president and first lady are also optimistic about the potential of the Obama presidential center having a positive economic impact on the South Side of Chicago. And he is hopeful that that will spur some economic activity and be a beneficial influence in the community,” Earnest said. …

Yeah right. He won’t go anywhere near Chicago; he already said he wants to stay in DC and try to be a thorn in Trump’s side.

Built in Chicago? Yikes. Probably create a couple of full-time jobs filing in the bullet holes on the sides of the building every morning, with overtime after the holidays.

I agree that his Center as well as his legacy will continue to be a boon for violence in Chicago.

He thinks the gang-bangers will stop killing each other so they can go to his museum and worship him, it seems.

WOW

Barry should be deported to Kenya where he’ll become a real war lord after reforming the Mau Mau.

"is hopeful that that will spur some economic activity....."

On the southside of Chicago? I'm sure it will spur some economic activity in no time.

A few days before Christmas I visited the Nixon Presidential Library. It was an amazing experience. It pulled no punches about his flaws, it practically ASSAULTS you with Watergate. But only the most jaded would not leave there with a sense that Nixon was a good man, whose heart was in the right place and succeeded more often than not.

After leaving Nixon's library, I headed straight to Simi Valley so I could visit the Reagan Presidential Library. I watched his procession to the Capitol in 2004. I witnessed the next to last changing of the guard as he lay in state in the Rotunda. This was my chance to pay my respects to him and Nancy at their final rest.

Again, an amazing experience. One that also remarks upon a man's flaws. Iran-Contra has its exhibit. But you can't but be overwhelmed, to tears, at the magnificence of this humble man and his accomplishments.

I might one day visit the Obama Library. For laughs if nothing else. It isn't often that one sees narcissism that rivals the pharaohs of old.

Yep. The only remaining question is how high will the wall or iron fence be around Obama’s museum?

Perfect. A presidential library with bullet holes and graffiti. And flying a Kenyan flag.

I have never thought Nixon was an evil man, ever. I think he was flawed, but I believe he was a patriot. As a conservative, I disagree with many of his endeavors but I do believe some of them were simply products of the time (such as the EPA) and I understand his rationale about opening up China, but I also think that was somewhat a product of the times.

Chicongo, in particular the southside, is the community he organized prior to coming to Washington.
The result we see is exactly what he organized it to be.

“And on the pedestal these words appear:
‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

“Obama Sees His Presidential Center As Boon for Violence-Plagued Chicago”

He is totally correct. Everything he does promotes more violence in Chicago.

Where they serve chitlins and greens, all the guides speak only Ebonics, and every 20th white person is mugged.
