“I can’t stand the NY Times. Nevertheless, Apple should not bend over to the Communist demands.
Let China ban Apple and it will hurt China.”

I don’t like to see this kowtowing to China either, but as one company officer told me in an interview, “Either you’re in the Chinese market or you’re not a player.” It is certainly a huge chunk of business. I’m guessing that Apple had little choice in the matter. And, while I see the point that banning Apple hurts China, believe me, it hurts Apple much more.

On the good side, where there is a will, there is a way. The Chinese will find a way to get the news from the outside world.

You are right, they probably had little choice.

I now one hardware company which would have lost hundreds of millions of dollars in business if they did not bow to China’s demands.

I hated dealing and negotiating with anyone in that country
