We all know what the framers meant, but the ferrules argue the ballot box. In today's society, stand in a courtroom and argue constitutional rights to support a case and they just laugh in the backroom.
Bill of rights? Uh huh...if you say so.
If the ferrules can spy on innocent citizens phone records/internet URLs/Ccard records w/o individual probable cause warrants issued by a magistrate, they can do just about anything they wish.
For example: ALPRs (Automatic lic plate readers). This was a great idea, great law enforcement tool to catch crooks who have stolen a car. Now, law enforcement routinely cruise through private parking lots using ALPRs to scan hundreds of lic plates for registration/insurance/DL violations. Basically...revenue cops.
We now know local law enforcement has been pretty much militarized. SWAT (Special weapons and tactics) teams would be called out in hostage situations or for high profile “armed and dangerous” fugitives. Over the last decade, SWAT raids have increased from around 17k per year to over 80K.
Someone owing child support refuses to open the door to officers, a person wanted on a drug warrant, a suicidal individual threatening to harm themselves, a teenager in a park with what appears to be a rifle. All these trigger SWAT situations.
Black clad, automatic weapons, grenades/ordinance, heavy armored vehicles, drones...you name it. All in the name of terror.
