Weird, China hacks OPM computers, gets sensitive information on federal workers, military, federal law enforcement. Now, we are talking hacking the system of a federal agency, not a political party. Yet, I don't recall neocons talking about China as our enemy and sanctions, Fox News running anti-China propaganda 24/7, McCain and Graham calling for war, etc.

Chinese and Russians have hacked State and Pentagon computers, but no big deal. Its all part of the Great Game.
But stealing Podesta’s password! That’s war!

AC beach Patrol is correct.
It was a complete “ho-hum, where’s the sports section?” from all the fools in DC.
Yes, I was impacted. All but my fingerprints were hacked, and all my OPM data back to 1980, too.
Oh, but now, the RUSSIANS! ... blah, blah, blah my arse!

Now, that was a real hack! Chinese breach data of 4 million federal workers:
I don’t remember McAinal his best girl friend Linda and their altar boy Ryan wanting to go to war against the Chicoms.
Nor do I remember Obozo sending ChiCom spies, er embassy people packing.

You cannot expect our leaders to do anything about Americans being hacked, that privilege is reserved for Marxist party leaders only, not the dirty working-class.
Silly peons...

And don’t forget the China hack of the USS Reagan and the California conviction of Su Bin who hacked defense contractors for the Chinese military.

Can we pay the Chinese to fire some of our government workers or dock their pay?

How do you change 50 yrs of commie indoctrination in any significant time frame? I say they are a total lost cause & are so set that we may have a civil war to deal with, which is OK because I know who the winner will be.

The best part is that there’s only 3 million actual current and former federal government employees.

Again? Didn’t OPM learn ANYTHING about security the last time they were hacked by the Chinese? Last time I think it was their ENTIRE personnel background investigation data.

I have already been notified by OPM, DHS, Blue Cross, my bank and several other institutions that their computers containing my info was compromised by the Chi-Coms.
They pretty much have all my data now. I guess as long as I keep buying their junk from Home Depo they will leave me alone.

The OPM hack breach involves all U.S. military, cleared federal employees (from MBI and BI to TS/SCI & Yankee White) and cleared contractors. Anyone who filled out an EQIP for SF85 or SF86. And it would involve spouses and cohabitants of the cleared employees (DOB, SSN, full name and A/K/As, etc.). The number is much larger than 4 million.
To: AC Beach Patrol
Does that mean they gleaned PASSWORDS of everyone in the data base? Can they impersonate federal workers to glean top secret data?

Does this mean all these people - military, government personnel and contractors - are subject to blackmail?

This Chicom hack was by far much worse. Our (yes, me too) fingerprints could be used to imprison us or execute us for murder if the Chicoms don’t get what they want from us.

The Chinese have done this since Obama took office. Never once have I heard Obama say he was going to retaliate against the Chinese.
To: AC Beach Patrol
And Obama will slap sanctions on China and kick out their emissaries, right? Riiiiiiight.

This and the DNC “hacks” were inside jobs. Just like with Benghazi, the peons are expendable. The only actions taken by the powers-that-be is when their own are harmed, even when they are doing something far more fraudulent and illegal, whether there is proof of the harm or not. To hell with anyone else.
The Chinese government has sponsored far more intrusions and theft and there is nothing from Obama. Calls for war against Russia for supposedly stealing and releasing actual, truthful e-mails but the Chinese just flat out steal a Navy drone and what happens? Crickets.

"Chinese and Russians have hacked State and Pentagon computers, but no big deal. Its all part of the Great Game."
The hack described in the article was of no use politically. At worst (from the media's perspective) it might reflect poorly on Obama's stewardship of the national security infrastructure. But that connection was not made - the story came out, and was allowed to pass by with little comment or consequence.
But this recent fake Russian story - "the Russians hacked the election" - was VERY useful to the MSM, giving them a tool to delegitimize Trump's election. So now every day there's some new story about Russia: Russian hacking, or Trump's Russian business connections, or Trump once ate at a Russian restaurant - anything to demonize the Russians and to tie Trump to Russia.
A year ago, the malware discovered in a computer at a small utility plant in Vermont might be local news, if that, but now it becomes a national, above-the-fold story because the media think they can use it to harm Trump.
