Taylor Swift is known for surprising fans with one-of-a-kind experiences — showing up at weddings, bridal showers, and even inviting them over for dance parties at her house. And on Monday, she continued the tradition — surprising a 96-year-old World War II veteran with a visit to his Missouri home.

Cyrus Porter had made headlines for being the oldest “Swifty” — telling Ozarks First that he’s been to multiple Swift concerts, using his love for the 27-year-old singer to bring him closer to 20+ grandchildren.

I'm more of a Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline fan myself, but what Taylor Swift did here was nice, real nice.

Amen. Not many entertainers of her generation who’d be this willing to give back to someone that fought so they could have the freedom to do what they do.

Thanks to Pandora exposing me to music I’d never actively seek, I’ve accidentally become a huge Taylor Swift fan. Her voice is like plain vanilla ice cream. It is a great simple base for all sorts of music types and arrangements. The strength of her music, to me, is the arrangements.

And she is either an amazing business woman or she trusts whoever she manages to do their job, and that person is an amazing business person.

contrast to Troy Brown and refusal to aid stranded traveler because of a Trump sticker. Also, the entertainers refusing to perform at Inauguration. I don’t take to celebrities but Taylor Swift did just right.

Sorry, cynical here. TS carefully crafts her image.

But whatever the motive, good for her for at least doing it.

This only hurts her in her business.

She should be at a “pro choice” fundraiser.

I agree on her image. I doubt anyone does more in entertainment today to manage their image than Taylor Swift. Between the fake / contractual relationships that she has to the publicity analysis that is done on pretty much every “spontaneous” event that she does, I am sure someone thought about the publicity. But I agree with you — whatever the motive, it is nice that she did it.

Swift was one of the ‘ Holywood elites ‘few who kept her dignity and was not a shrieking pro-Hellary banshee .

I think she is on the Trump Train

Look she had to get there. She had to spend an hour of two being on, among that large family. That is very tiring to do. There must have been 4 generations in that house all screaming at you.

It was very nice of her. I am glad she gets her kicks doing this for some of her most appreciating fans.

Good for her. I can just see Justin Beiber doing this, and the donut biter, and Springsteen, and CSNY, so many others....

Good point. There are those who suspect that this was all just a PR stunt. I disagree. A PR stunt would be popping in, getting a few pictures taken, then leaving. Swift put on a show for those folks.

As a country singer artist it doesn’t hurt her business at all. If a rocker, then it would.
