That is true. Trump might have adapted, but I think the headwinds would have been stronger. Hillary was not a good candidate, which is why Obama was about to steal away “her” coronation in 2008.
And quite frankly, we are profoundly lucky that happened. If it had been two terms of Hillary (starting in 2008), Obama might have a shoe-in in 2016. I think Hillary would have easily dispatched any other Republican save Trump. Why? Because Trump fights without apology.
