I don't really care one way or the other.
This is a beautiful piece of music, posted to enhance enjoyment of and reflection on the season.
I gave absolutely zero thought to the politics involved.
And I'm not going to let that consideration detract from a wonderful Christmas Carol, beautifully performed.

I think Lisbon1940’s post is probably wrong. I jsut did a quick Internet search, and Yo Yo Ma and Alison Krauss do not appear on current lists of artists who have refused to perform at the inaugural. Yo Yo Ma did perform at an Obama inaugural, but that doesn’t mean he would refuse to perform for Trump.

This is one of my very favorite Christmas Carols, and this version is so simple and beautiful!! The cello provides almost a drone sound underneath Alison’s gorgeous voice, like uilleann pipes might do.

I’ve not heard that one by Anonymous 4. I’ll have to look it up! They sounded just like angels! Saw them in concert just after their Gloryland CD came out; they were even better in person, than recorded!!

I found their version on Noel: Chants and Carols for Christmas. It’s a 4 CD set, but I don’t mind, because I love those eras of Christmas music; can’t stand most modern Christmas songs!
